12/12/06 7:30 AM Well this is it. Final full day in China and I don’t think everyone could be happier. We have had a wonderful time but two weeks is plenty; all sharing small spaces and small beds, thinking about what you’re eating all the time and just missing friends & family.
Today we will go the consulate for Ella’s visa to her passport and a small ceremony. Apparently it is a very long drive for just a 5-minute ceremony and signing of papers so, the kids have opted to stay at the hotel with my folks.
Deb is doing great, almost at full speed and Ella continues to come out of her shell more and more. Patrick and Hallie have been wonderful taking second seat these few weeks without any complaining or protest. And they kept the hectic pace on the days it was needed and I am very proud of them.

Enjoy the ceremony for Ella. This is the final part of your ‘missionella’, then homeward bound. Best wishes for a safe and sleep-filled trip home to Seattle.
Just can’t wait to see you all and meet Ella when you get back – after a much needed adjustment time at home.

how exciting – you’re almost home! i’ve been reading all about your trip, but finding the time to comment has been all but impossible…things are busy at the office as we prepare 15 other families for travel – SO wonderful!
ella is beautiful and i’m so happy you have found eachother – she is simply beaming in those pictures! once ella has had sufficient time to readjust to her new home, stop by the office, i’d love to meet her!
safe travels home!
Congratulations on the first phase of Mission: Ella coming to a close and best wishes for a safe journey home! Please, please, please consider updating your blog for the out-of-town fans, even if it’s only once a month or every couple of weeks. We’re totally addicted to this story and can’t wait to read future chapters ;o)
